Preparing for the Nostalgic Chapter as a Solo Traveller

I’m preparing for another mini chapter of travel, life, adventure, curiosity and experience. If I were to talk to younger Anna (even 2 years ago younger Anna), it’d go something like this.

While the decision to go abroad again as a solo traveller feels overwhelming, scary, nerve-wracking, already anticipating future decision fatigue and questioning why you’re embarking on this challenge again…. *breath*

… remember the glass half full version of the story.

The side of the story where you get to excel as an independent woman, learning about yourself. That your extroverted battery drains quickly yet you recharge solo quickly and crave socializing again. You seek deeper connections and complex conversations that make you perceive the world in a different way, combined with learning about a new culture or language, or the curiosity of how the person in front of you was raised and have spent their life until the age they present themselves in front of you at.

Don’t forget some of your closest friends are now your online work colleagues, podcast co-host and people who have opened your doors to spend time together 🥹

Yes, it feels like there is a never-ending to do list before you get on the flight, but won’t there always be in the game of life

Just eat that frog like you and Shandi keep talking about and take each task moment by moment to prepare yourself in the way that feels best for you. Some may prepare spontaneously, others more calculated. Do what feels right.

sneaking in the last hike / camp in the Rocky Mountains for the summer

Review your packing list, it’s likely you forgot something. Because as one travel friend just shared (hi neighbour 👋🏻):

“...I have just reviewed it, and although we are experienced travellers, I found some items I had not thought of.😊. It was quite comprehensive, I must say!”

… you may not think of some items in the heat of the departure too.

Cheers travel friend, to another week before a new chapter in your book. Just remember that the beginning is in a country with plenty of nostalgia, good company and bikes waiting for you 😉.

Now tell me, do you have an upcoming trip you’re excited for? Write it in the comments and let me know.

Ciao for now!

Anna

The Tools to Thrive as a Nomadic Solopreneur

Paper planners vs. digital tools, ideal weeks vs. real ones—turns out we run our businesses in totally different ways.

We compare how we stay organized across time zones, tools we actually use (from Calendly to Canva to ChatGPT), and the small systems that keep our businesses running while we’re traveling.
